Thanks for visiting me. I'm Ricky Ottaway from southeastern North Carolina and love being here. It's a great place to grow the human spirit, not too busy, not too sleepy. My faith, family and friends have grounded me on solid ground. Love of life and music has brought me to this junction.
Since I was 6 or 7 years of age, my grandfather offered a pony or a guitar to his grandchildren. We wanted a horse, mom chose the guitar for obvious upkeep reasons. Listening to mostly country music on a farm both set a style and musical beginnings. With my brother, we set out exploring any and all music. Life on that farm gave me an endless catalog of lyrics. As with a lot of folks, i got married, had children, worked and labored through life without much time to pursue dreams of my own. Playing whenever and wherever,, I've had the pleasure of gracing some stages with gifted and notable artists and groups. Life's been good. Then came Marty Wozniak. A great friend and visionary who insisted we embark on a musical recording journey. We have made an album of original songs 25+ years old. I believe life and times repeats itself making old songs seem relevant now. For myself, the expression of music through country, folk, bluegrass, pop, rock, reggae, you name it, lets all of us find something pleasant in a hectic world. The music made here is a different take on old remedies.
